One nurse, who stays your nurse

A Nurse Ambassador is an experienced registered nurse who becomes your family’s single, trusted point of contact for everything related to your loved one’s health and care.
THE MODEL

What is a Nurse Ambassador?

Four things that make this different from any other kind of help you can hire.

One nurse, who stays your nurse

You won’t be passed between staff. The same Nurse Ambassador visits every time, and gets to know your loved one the way family does.

A small number of families

Each Nurse Ambassador looks after about ten families. That’s how she knows the medications, the birthdays, the doctors, and the family dynamics by heart.

The whole picture

Medicine, appointments, the home, benefits, and the family conversations. Your Nurse Ambassador sees how it all fits together.

Professional, discreet, personal

Our Nurse Ambassadors arrive dressed for a professional visit, not a hospital shift. Everything you share stays private.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Gineen Ortega, RN

Founder and Nurse Ambassador

Gineen is a registered nurse with more than 26 years of clinical and healthcare-management experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Penn State University in 2000, where she was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Phi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

She began her career at Duke University Medical Center, working in urology, otolaryngology, reconstructive plastic surgery, and orthopedics, and helped establish a research protocol for the specialized leech therapy used in reconstructive procedures. At Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, she worked in inpatient psychiatric nursing, chronic hemodialysis, pediatric intensive-care dialysis, and surgical and medical intensive care. Her experience also includes ophthalmic surgery, interventional pain management, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and outpatient surgical care.

In Florida, Gineen helped establish and manage an interventional pain-management practice, handling credentialing, office management, patient coordination, and education. It gave her a rare understanding of both the clinical and the administrative sides of healthcare.

Her advocacy is also personal. Gineen and her husband, Jose Ortega, a board-certified anesthesiologist, have two daughters. Sofia is studying interior design at the University of Florida. Her younger daughter, Alexa, is autistic and has a rare genetic condition affecting development. As Alexa’s mother, Gineen knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be to coordinate complex care, communicate with providers, navigate benefits, complete complicated paperwork, and make important healthcare decisions.

She founded Keystone Concierge Nursing to give families the knowledgeable, compassionate guidance she believes everyone deserves: a dedicated nurse who has the time to listen, explain, coordinate, and care.

“There are so many people out there that need help, that aren’t getting the help.”

WHY KEYSTONE

The one stone an arch cannot stand without

Gineen is from Pennsylvania, the Keystone State, and trained as a nurse at Penn State.

A keystone is also the one stone an arch cannot stand without: take it out and the whole structure comes down. That’s the role we play for families. The piece that holds everything together.

THE KEYSTONE HOLDS THE ARCH
